The
Cultural Week takes place during the third week in September, and includes
a wide range of different activities: retired people's day, conferences,
slide shows, children's day, an exhibition of coal bunkers and limekilns
and a historical clothes exhibition. Indeed, the modern-day Zerain Ethnographical
Museum started life as an activity organised during this week.
The week culminates in the Ecological
Fair, which is attended by ecological farmers from all over Gipuzkoa
and the Basque Country in general. In addition to being the precursor
of the other fairs held in Gipuzkoa, Zerain's Ecological Fair is the
only one dedicated exclusively to biological products. Baking, cider-making,
espadrille-making, permaculture and biodynamic architecture workshops,
etc. are also held.
