TOURIST ATTRACTIONS > Ethnographic Museum

The Ethnographic Museum, founded in 1993, is the result of a project set in motion by a group of young volunteers from the town, with the help of an ethnologist.

An inventory was carried out of the tools in all the Zerain farmhouses, with the aim of organising a 21-day exhibition.

This exhibition, however, proved so popular that the group decided to set up a permanent display, i.e. the museum proper. The best exhibits were selected from among the over 1,000 pieces included in the original inventory, and the museum display currently contains over 200 different items.

This small museum aims to chart the evolution of our way of life, customs and traditions.

The different sections of the museum contain tools, furniture, utensils and documents that illustrate Zerain's historical process of survival, from ancient agriculture and farming techniques, to the mining era and finally, the present day.

The Zerain Museum was made possible thanks to the help and generosity of the town's inhabitants, since all the exhibits on display were donated.
