This game, which has deep roots throughout the Basque Country, is extremely popular in Zerain. At one time, the town had as many as nine different bowling alleys, but the most important one is that located in the main square.
The object of the game is to knock down nine pins placed along the alley without touching the chaparro located in the middle. Each player has five turns, and the winner is the one who manages to knock down the most pins.
The sound of the bowls rolling along the board still captivates both townsfolk and visitors alike.
